Actor Amitabh Bachchan will host the opening ceremony of the fifth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) in Chennai April 3.

The 69-year-old, who has taken a break to recover from two abdominal surgeries last month, is preparing for the event.

"April 3rd is the day for the opening. Preparing for it already. Getting back into the grind," tweeted the actor.

The actor, known for his deep, baritone voice, had hosted four seasons of game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and also the third season of the reality show "Bigg Boss".

The much awaited Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan starrer '3' release date has been officially announced today.

The film is all set to hit the screens on March 30th. Tamil and Telugu version of the film will be release on March 30 and the Hindi version follows shortly. It was directed by Aishwarya Dhanush and produced by Kasthoori Raja.

Earlier Kasthoori Raja the producer has confirmed the released date as March 30, but some rumours came that the film is postponed. Now the actor clears the air and confirmed the release date of the film with his tweeter "After all d hype"3"will release on MARCH 30 th guys.Yes 10 days 4m now.D release will b in tamil n telugu.Hindi vil follow shortly.god bless".

The Telugu version audio launch of the film is held in Hyderabad tomorrow (March 20).  Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the film.

Akshay plays shades of Ranjeet

The actor Akshay Kumar says his character's traits in "Housefull 2″ are inpired by the way veteran actor Ranjeet used to ogle at women in his earlier films.

"My character in the film is that of a guy who loves admiring women. He easily gets distracted by the presence of beautiful women. There are many men who do that…they forget the conversation and start ogling at women," Akshay told IANS.

"My character takes little inspiration from Ranjeet sir..like he used to be in his earlier films. It does not take from the negative shades of Ranjeet but the way he used to look at the women," he added.

"Housefull 2″, directed by Sajid Khan, will release April 5.

I’d love to do Rajkumar Hirani’s film: Aamir

After scoring a six with Rajkumar Hirani in "3 Idiots", Aamir Khan is open to again working with the director.

"I would love to do Raju's film. But I want him to make the announcement. The script is very good. Raju is a very good director and a very good human being. We have spoken about a film, but it's better if he announces it," said Aamir.

The said film is tentatively titled "PK". However Aamir is occupied with his TV show "Satyameva Jayate", due to which the release of his film "Talaash" has also been pushed towards the end of 2012.
