I researched a lot about Manya Surve: John

John Abraham says he has worked hard to get into the character of Manya Surve, the gangster who was shot dead by Mumbai police in 1982, for the movie "Shootout At Wadala", inspired by the real life incident.

"I can honestly say that I have put in every kind of effort to study this character, to work on the way he supposedly behaved. In fact, me and Sanjay (Gupta) went and met the people who knew him to find out how Manya Surve behaved and the way he spoke," the 39-year-old said here at an event.

"There was talk of me learning Marathi for this, but the idea was to understand the colloquial nature of the language… so that you understand how Manya Surve was in everyday life. So, as an actor I have really given all my effort and worked really hard to do maximum research towards this film," he added.

Though John plays the central character in the film, he does not feel burdened with the extra responsibility to promote it.

"I am relieved. Every film requires promotion and what I feel is what Ekta (Kapoor) and Sanjay (Gupta) have done here, is actually a boon for all of us. So I have been given an opportunity to have a platform to show what each one of us can do out here.

"I don't feel it's a crunch, I think it's a great opportunity and I am going to grasp it with both my hands. So, I am very excited," said John who was last seen in "Desi Boyz".

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, "Shootout at Wadala" also features Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ronit Roy and Manoj Bajpai.

Actress Jessica Alba says she doesn't have a perfect life.

The 30-year-old, who raises two young daughters with husband Cash Warren, says she'd like to spend more time with her family but can't because of work commitments.

"It's not perfect. I'm constantly feeling I should be spending more time at home. I installed a kids' corner in the office, and the baby is really easy right now. But every day is evolving and changing. If I'm not going to be home all day, I know I'll be home at night," showbizspy.com quoted Alba as saying.

"I feel like I've finally come into my own and become the person I always should have been, or that I always wanted to be. I feel more grounded, free and comfortable in my own skin than I ever have," she added.

Rihanna gets a £15,000 haircut

Rihanna is in London where she will perform series of concerts. Ahead of her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the Bajan star realized that her hair was in a mess.

A source said Rihanna got out of the shower and realized that her hair had tangled together. She tried to sort them out but realized it was almost impossible to do so.

When she realized that she needed help, she decided not to take chances with the unknown. Subsequently, she contacted her stylists who were back in Los Angeles to come in and help her fix the mess.

The Sun reports that Rihanna flew in the stylists in First Class which did cost £15,000.

A source was quoted by the newspaper as saying that, "She didn't want to take the chance on an unknown. Because they were on such a tight schedule, they had to get her on the first flight. Rihanna didn't care about paying a fortune."

Rihanna eventually got to the ITV studios wearing a cap. She was seen greeting Jonathan Ross before entering the studio. Rihanna is scheduled to perform on the show and that is when the world will realize how the 'repair' on the hair went.

Ram Gopal Varma admits he approached Indian Canadian porn star Sunny Leone for an item song in "Department", but things didn't work out and the song went to Nathalia Kaur. The filmmaker is in awe of the Brazilian model of Indian descent.

"I never ever hid the fact that I am a devotee of a woman's beauty. But not only in my entire career, but never even ever since I have consciously come of a mental and a physical age to perceive and admire the beauty of a woman, have I seen a woman more beautiful than Nathalia," he said.

"Her beauty is truly electrifying and it just sparks out from every nook and curve of both her face and her body. Her face looks so classically beautiful and her body literally looks like the perfect embodiment of an ultimate female figure.

"This combined with her ability on cue to give any expression that is asked of her is what I think will happen in only once in a decade and in this decade I think Nathalia is that girl," he added.

Nathalia will shake a leg on item song "Dan dan" in the film, which also stars Rana Daggubati and Sanjay Dutt.

Earlier Sunny was expected to do the song.

"We were trying for Sunny Leone but by God's grace it didn't work out or else we would have lost out on someone as divine as Nathalia and I thank God for that," Varma wrote on his Twitter page.
