Thanks?

Follow Up of the Day: Archie Same-Sex Marriage Issue Sells Out Despite Boycott

Archie Comics has announced that Life With Archie #16, which features the wedding of Archie‘s first gay character, Kevin Keller, has sold out despite (to spite?) the objections of the American Family Association’s One Million Moms project.

The conservative group called for a boycott of toy chain Toys R Us last week over the company’s decision to stock the Archie issue.

The issues were removed from Toys R Us shelves, but not in the way One Million Moms hoped they would be.

Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater says the group “has a right to their opinion,” but Kevin Keller isn’t going anywhere.

"Kevin will always be a major part of Riverdale, and we're overjoyed, honored and humbled by the response to this issue,” he said in a statement. "Our fans have come out full force to support Kevin. He is, without a doubt, the most important new character in Archie history. He's here to stay."

Poignant Reaction of the Day

Poignant Reaction of the Day: Advertisers dropping like flies is one thing, but when Rick “rape babies are a gift from God” Santorum is calling your comments “absurd,” you need to seriously reevaluate the kind of comments you’re making.

Relationship Review App of the Day

Relationship Review App of the Day

An Australian website called WotWentWrong allows people who have just been dumped to ask their exes for feedback about the relationship without the awkwardness of actually talking to them.

"WotWentWrong is the breakup app for couples who never really broke up,” says the site’s founder, Audrey Melnik.

The survey WotWentWrong sends out to exes includes questions about kissing skills, fashion sense, and general attractiveness, among other things. So far, 500 questionnaires have been sent, and a quarter of them have received responses.

No word on whether “seemed like the type of person who would send me a detailed survey about our relationship” is one of the reasons exes can list for breaking up.

Sudoku Is Serious Business of the Day

German finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble was seen concentrating intently during a recent parliamentary debate on the Greek bailout and future of the Eurozone.

Unfortunately, he was concentrating on solving a Sudoku puzzle on his tablet.

A spokesman for Schäuble’s office says the minister was “taking a well-deserved break from normal duties,” but colleagues questioned his choice of timing.

Hey, he was just moving some numbers around.

A passionate celebratory kiss shared between French soccer players Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud during yesterday friendly against Germany in Bremen is still lingering on the lips of many fans who have made #Debuchy a trending topic on Twitter.

The two had decided to French up their commemoration of Giroud first national team goal, which was assisted by Debuchy, and ended up scoring quite a bit of tongue wagging.

Mother Knows Best of the Day

Maybe this’ll persuade you to do as you’re told and clean your damn room.

19-year-old Ryan Kitching says his mom had been on his case for weeks about his messy bedroom. When he finally got around to cleaning it up, he stumbled on a lottery ticket that ended up being worth £52,981 (~$84,000).

“My mum had been nagging me for weeks to tidy my room so I started cleaning up and found a pile of old tickets,” said Ryan. “I was about to bin them but at the last minute I got this strange feeling that I should get them checked.”

Good thing too, because one of them was worth nearly five times Ryan’s Tesco salary.

“Next time she nags me to tidy my room I won’t need telling twice,” he said.

And it only took half a hundred grand.
