Kollywood hits & misses of 2012-Half

My cine world, brings you the box office verdict of films which hit the bulls eye and the ones which misses it completely at the half of the year in 2012.

There were plenty of those small budget films, but most of them turned out to be successful some turned out into below par. Good screenplay writers in Kollywood are still as scarce as intelligent. The stars still rules and for some reason the audiences prefer to watch lousy movies.

It's high time Kollywood industry grows as an astronomical rate, amid of year 2012 there are 62 films were released, a very few films are thwacked a success at the box office. Some films which get good response from the audience but failed miserably in the box office, the movie "3" famed as "why this kolaveri di "is the good example for this. Even though most of the people who saw it loved it, it didn't really do all that well at box office.

Here are the some of the pick of the year :



The First release of 2012 and also much hyped multi-starrer movie, which has Vijay, Jeeva & Srikanth, from the director Shankar. It's the No.1 grosser in the first half of 2012, the film has reached well in all center audience and turned as Blockbuster. 'Nanban' has smashed few records in the opening week in the collection and it's turned as the highest grosser of all Vijay films.

Film Response: A Center – Super Hit, B – Super Hit, C – Hit

Trade Verdict – Blockbuster



A perfect summer release movie from the director M.Rajesh, who has given two consecutive hits, proves again that he is the king of comedies. Almost, in all centers the film was widely accepted by the audience. 'OKOK' is turned as the talk of town in this summer; Santhanam carries the film to winning post. Udhayanidhi Stalin debut is promising and as per the huge promotion, film also turned as a super duper hit at the box office.

Trade Verdict – Super Hit.



A Story revolves with a crime thriller, which is directed by Balaji Sakthivel. Though he made his stable hits, this movie has also received good response from the audience and hits the box office collection.

The action masala film from the Director Linguswamy,  has got a very good responses in all centers.

The real-life incident pictorial film from the debutant Director Sathyasiva . The movie revolves around four person referred as "Kazhugu" who recovers a bodies of suicide victims. The movie had positive reviews. Yuvan Shakar Raja music in the film is talk of town and mainly the song "Aambalaikum Pombalaikum "the song has reached widely among the youngster.

Trade Verdict: Hit



The romantic comedy film which is directed by Balaji Mohan had mixed response from the audience, but surprisingly the film turned as hit as there no big release to ruin the movie.

The comedy film directed by Sundar.C his 25th movie as a director. The film has a mixed response, but surprisingly the film did very good business and turned as a hit in the box office.

The romantic drama which is directed by debutant director Aishwarya Dhanush has started creating buzz before its launch then after the release of the single track "Why This Kolaveri Di" became viral the hypes  of the film is very big. But the film gets mixed response from the audience and turned as an average grosser at the box office.

Trade Verdict: Average



The romantic thriller which is directed by producer-turn-director Elred Kumar which has make some buzz of before its release among the youngster with the songs & visual.  But, the film gets negative response from the audience and turned as below average film at the box office.

Trade Verdict: Below Average/Flop



The period film which is directed by Vasanthabalan, has got negative response from the audience and turned as below average film at the box office.

Billa 2 postponed again

Ajith's much awaited film of the year 'Billa 2' which is making lot of buzz among the fans about the release date & censor is postponed again.

Before the makers of the film has planned to release the film on June 22, but due delay in get censor certification the film get postponed.

There is an un-confirmed buzz that Venu Ravichandra of Aascar Films who is have TN distribution rights of the film has acquired the 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Tamil Nadu theatrical rights except Chennai which is release on June 29.

Meanwhile the Belgium distributor of 'Billa 2' says that "'Billa 2' is the first ever Tamil film to get released in Belgium. The special screening of the film will be held on June 27 (Wednesday), 4.00 PM and the film is releasing on June 28 worldwide.

But till producer of the film Sunir Khetrapal didn't made any official announcement regarding the censor certification & release date. In one or two days the official announcement will be made regarding the 'Billa 2' release date.

Emma Stone plans to study biology

Actress Emma Stone, who plays Peter Parker's first love Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man", wants to study biology.

She visited a laboratory for the first time on the set and was fascinated by the work of real scientists and is inspired to study the subject.

"It was the first time I had ever been angry about not going to college because I was fascinated by what they were showing us at the laboratory. I thought, 'What do I need to do to intern?' You need to be a college graduate," starpulse.com quoted Stone as saying.

"It sucks because I can learn, I swear I got so interested in biology, learning about medicine and regeneration and stem cells. It expanded my mind in so many ways, so now I'm gonna go take a biology class. What's amazing is you can do it at home," said the 23-year-old.
