The National Award winning director Bala's next film 'Paradesi' shooting is progress in Munnar.

The directed is shooting the film in Munnar with the entire team and he is planning to complete the film within 60 days. The first schedule of the film is held near Ramanathapuram and then, Bala canned some scenes with Dhansika a few weeks ago.

Bala is working on the final stage of the film now. He wants to finish the film on a bar minimum budget.  The film is based on a Malayalam novel "Eriyum Thanal", and is about the relationship between a couple and their son.

The film has Adharvaa,  Dhansika and Vedhika in lead roles. It was produced by Prasad V. Potluri under the banner of PVP Cinema. G.V Prakash Kumar is scoring music for the film. Chezhiyan is handling cinematography and editing by Kishore Te.

Emraan very versatile, professional: Huma Qureshi

Huma Qureshi is glad she has a mix of films like "Gangs Of Wasseypur" and "Ek Thi Daayan" in her kitty, and says working with a versatile actor like Emraan Hashmi in the latter movie has been an experience.

"Emraan is such a versatile actor. He is doing so many different movies — from 'Jannat 2′ to 'Shanghai' and now 'Ek Thi Dayaan' and 'Ghanchakkar'. He is very professional and is always on time," Huma told.

The actress will make her debut with Anurag Kashyap's two-part series "Gangs Of Wasseypur", which received a positive response at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival earlier this week. The film is set to release June 22.

Meanwhile, she is also upbeat about "Ek Thi Daayan", directed by debutant Kannan Iyer, and co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Vishal Bharadwaj Productions.

"'Ek Thi Daayan' is a supernatural psychological thriller. All my movies are so different and I feel so blessed to be able to work with these great directors and different production houses," she said.

The film also features Konkona Sen Sharma and Kalki Koechlin.

"Kalki is such a talented actress and I have been a fan of Konkona from the time I saw her in 'Mr. and Mrs. Iyer'. I feel so happy to be a part of this elite group," she added.

Want to be a step ahead of Vidya Balan: Veena Malik

Pakistani actress Veena Malik, set to sizzle in the Kannada version of hit Bollywood film "The Dirty Picture", aims to go a step ahead of Vidya Balan's act in the original. She maintains the two films are different.

"I have not seen the 'The Dirty Picture' in Hindi, though I have heard that Vidya Balan has delivered an awesome performance in the film. But I really want to go one step ahead in my performance in this film," said Veena.

The actress, who rose to fame in India after her stint in controversial reality show "Bigg Boss 4″, says it is unfair to compare the two films.

"Please don't compare the Bollywood film with the Kannada film that I am doing now," said Veena.

This is her first Kannada film, and she is confident it will be appreciated.

"My first Kannada film has a good package of entertainment and sentimental scenes. I'm sure I will entertain the audience with my performance and at the same time they would also feel sorry for the trials that my character undergoes in the film.

"I will win the hearts of Kannadigas through this performance. I like the role," she added.

Veena said she can relate to her role in the film, adding: "This is a different story and it connects well with all the struggling young women who want to make it big in their respective fields.

"I was moved after hearing the story as there were many incidents which remembered incidents that happened in my life albeit in a different fashion."

The actress is even more excited as she has wrapped a "sexy" and "stylish" photo shoot for the film, insisting it will present her in Marilyn Monroe style.

She said the photo shoot, done by photographer Suresh, was sexy, stylish, hot, raunchy, naughty and visually-captivating.

The film's lead actor Akshay had also participated in the photo shoot. The film is produced by Venkateappa, while writer and director Thrishool is wielding the megaphone for it.

Veena hopes she is also offered good roles in other regional film industries down south.
