Chitrangada still struggling to get over ‘Geeta Rao’

Actress Chitrangada Singh, whose performance in her debut film "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" was acclaimed by critics and audience alike, says even after nine years she struggling to get over her character of Geeta Rao.

"I don't know if I have still managed to make people forget Geeta Rao and remember another character that I have played," she told reporters here Monday at the launch of the Indian issue of Vogue magazine.

"…I am still kind of struggling to get over it and make people remember me by something else that I have played. I think it's still the most special one," added the actress who has also featured in "Sorry Bhai", "Yeh Saali Zindagi" and "Desi Boyz".

Chitrangada, who took a break after her first film to start a family with golfer-husband Jyoti Randhawa, says that being an actress was never her ambition.

"I started with something like that and I didn't plan my Bollywood career. I did not want to be an actress, never thought I would be here. It came my way and it just went off really well," said the 35-year-old.

Talking about her upcoming films, she said: "My next release is 'I, Me Aur Main' which has John (Abraham) and Prachi (Desai) with me in the film. It is about a woman who kind of realises the man is not quite committed to the relationship and what does she do about it."

"My second film is actually a very strange love story. It is opposite Arjun Rampal and directed by Sudhir Mishra. It is set in a sexual harassment case but it's about two people who have been in love but are now stuck in this case and what happens to them and their life."

Mishra has already praised the chemistry between Arjun and Chitrangada in his yet to be titled film.

Singer Rihanna has reportedly bagged a villainous role in the sixth installment of "The Fast and Furious" franchise.

"Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she'll be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn't take any prisoners - just like her in real life. It's a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles," thesun.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

The singer will drive supercars with the likes of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, as the series continues its world tour of exotic locations.

The movie is set in London, with filming expected to start as early as next month. The singer will also be heading to Essex for the first time as racing scenes will be shot in Southend.

Vishal and Trisha starrer 'Samaran' title has now changed as 'Samar'. It was directed by Thiru.

The new title 'Samar' that means 'The War' and the director Thiru thought that 'Samar' is more catchy than Samaran. Thiru says that "I am happy to work with Vishal again after 'Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai', he is very hardworking and dedicated star."

Thiru adds that "Plans are on the wrap up Samar after the next schedule in Thailand and the film is likely to hit the screens on July."

Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for the film. It was produced by T. Ramesh under the banner of Balaji Real Media. Richard M. Nathan is handling cinematography and editing by Antony Ruben.

Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiyaan' movie second schedule has completed in Kerala.

It was directed by Rajinikanth's youngest daughter Soundarya. The 3D period film has canned by using Picture Capturing Technloghy. Deepika Padukone who is playing the famle lead role in the film has joined the 'Kochadaiyaan' team for the second schedule, as due to the date issues the actress couldn't make it our for the first schedule which shot in London.

The director of the film Soundarya tweets that "Hey guys back in Chennai after an awesome 2nd schedule in Kerala, some good work. It was great working with Deepika ?she is such a darling."

It was produced by Sunil Lulla under the banner of Eros Entertainment. A.R Rahman is scoring music for the film and Rajiv Menon is handling cinematography.
