Evicted Cats of the Day

 - Evicted Cats of the Day

In less than jubilant news, the feline residents that are a part of a makeshift cat colony outside a Winn-Dixie store in Pine Island, FL are finding themselves amidst a controversy. The long time cat residents may be looking for a new home due to a single person’s complaint. Now the community is in an uproar, with talks of boycotting the grocery store. This might be the first reported story in which the cat claws have come out in people.

A North Korea The World Seldom Sees of the Day

Posted: 28 Apr 2012 10:30 AM PDT

Skateboarder, Patrik Wallner, put together this video of what North Korea looked like during a recent trip, which happened to coincide with the 100th birthday celebration of long deceased ruler, Kim Il-Sung. As polarizing as opinions of North Korea can be, it certainly makes an interesting backdrop for this clip.

Historic Twitter Account of the Day

 - Historic Twitter Account of the Day

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the L.A. Riots, a violent outbreak that occurred in the wake of four white police officers who were found “not guilty” for the beating of African-American motorist Rodney King. As is such, someone made @RealTimeLARiots, a Twitter account that chronicles what happened during those turbulent days in the aforementioned real time format. It’s an interesting take on what social media would have looked like had it existed in the early 90s.

Usher x Lamb Mashup of the Day

Posted: 28 Apr 2012 08:30 AM PDT

Though he might be resting comfortably making money off of Justin Bieber, Usher is the subject of a mashup that finds 2009′s “Papers” mixed in with the lamb that says “Yeah.” It’s groovy and it’s a pretty BAA-d remix.

Lights Out

Posted: 27 Apr 2012 08:30 PM PDT

The trailer for animator Hitoshi Takekiyo’s After School Midnighters is the best video about a classroom anatomy model come to life to befriend/terrorize kindergarteners you will see today, hands down.

Here’s the totally WTF official synopsis:

The main character ‘Kynst Lijk’ is a human body model that stands in a science room of an elementary school. Kynst Lijk also reigns over the school after midnight. One day, when a naughty kindergarden trio accidentally meets him, his ordinary life changes. The scariest and craziest after midnight adventure begins …

It’s cool. I wasn’t planning on falling asleep tonight anyway.

Hamburger Surprise of the Day

 - Hamburger Surprise of the Day

Toowomba, Australia mother of two Kylie Steger says her appetite was ruined when she found a “rude surprise” at the bottom of a burger box from fast food chain Hungry Jack’s: a crude drawing of a penis.

The offensive doodle has put Steger off her weekly dinner visits to the restaurant, where she often took the kids after football and netball practice.

“It literally made me sick,” she said. “If they have drawn that in there, what else have they done to my burger?”

A Hungry Jack’s spokesman says the company has launched an internal investigation to determine the identity of the artist.

Jonah Hill’s character from Superbad has not yet been ruled out as a suspect.

Resurrected Web Series of the Day

Posted: 27 Apr 2012 05:25 PM PDT

The creators of iconic web comedy series You Suck At Photoshop — full of helpful design tips and scathing personal criticism — apparently suck at quitting the Internet.

The duo, revealed as Troy Hitch and Matt Bledsoe, have resurrected their show for video network My Damn Channel after a four-year hiatus.

They’re back just in time, too, because you still really suck at Photoshop.
