Let us be your eyes and ears. Last week we were in Milan for I Saloni, and this past weekend our blogger swat team landed down here in High Point, NC to cover the spring furniture market. Though some have questioned the relevance of this aging traditional market during this deep recession, we continue to find it vibrant and fascinating, as it puts us in close touch with many of the folks who actually design and make stuff in this country. At the end of the day, this is an industry built on people, their creativity and their personalities. And they all come to life twice a year down in High Point. Jump on over and check out what we've been looking at. |

| | | Name: Marjorie Skouras Location: Hollywood, California A few weeks ago I was driving up the canyon to go for an afternoon hike. I literally had to pull over when I saw Marjorie's place. It was a very interesting looking house with a life-sized taxidermy figure staring back at me through the window! | |

| | | Hallelujah! Church pews are excellent sources of seating for small spaces. Narrow and minimal, church pews know how to pack people in, so they're great for entryways, odd narrow spaces, the living room and round the dining table. The traditional ones without upholstery are also great for storing and displaying books, shoes and collections. Get them used, and you not only save a penny, you also buy green. | |
