"The Hunger Games" made a whopping $155 million at the US box office, making it the third-best debut film ever.

It is behind the $169.2 million achieved by the "Harry Potter" finale last year and the 2008 Batman movie "The Dark Knight".

"The Hunger Games", is the highest grossing non-sequel in history beating its rival "The Twilight Saga" which only took in $69.6 million during its opening weekend back in November 2008, reports contactmusic.com.

The film sees a glittering cast of young and older actors mix in a classy sci-fi adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel which sees 24 youths forced to compete in a televised death match in a post-apocalyptic North American society.

Actress Megan Fox has her sights set on becoming a mother.

The actress has told friends that she is desperate to start a family with husband Brian Austin Green and is willing to put her movie career on hold to make her dream come true.

"Megan is very broody right now. She always said she would wait to start a family but with Brian in his late thirties and her career back on track she feels it might happen sooner rather than later," showbizspy.com quoted a source as saying.

"Megan has matured a lot in recent years and she would make a great mother," the source added.

Bala’s next titled as Paradesi

The National Award winning director Bala who was signed Atharva for his next film was getting a title.

The director's next film is based on the novel 'Eriyum Thanal', which was earlier touted to have same novel name as the title of the film, but now the director Bala has entitled the film as 'Paradesi'.

'Paradesi' goes on the lives of fisherman for that the actor Atharva has sheded 10 kilos of his weight. Vedhika will be playing the female lead role. Uma Riyaz playing the Atharva's mother role and Pooja will be seen in an important role.

G.V Prakash is scoring music for the film. Chezhiyan is handling cinematography and it was produced by Prasad V. Potluri under the banner of PVP Cinema.

Kolaveri Di crosses 50 million hits

"Kolaveri Di" Monday crossed 50 million hits on YouTube, revealing that music lovers have yet to get over southern superstar Dhanush's unusual song.

Till Monday afternoon, 50,086,633 hits were recorded.

Thanks to its peppy, catchy tune and bilingual lyrics, the song went viral when it was launched on the internet Nov 16 and got more than a million hits within a day of its release.

Dhanush, who is Tamil matinee idol Rajinikanth's son-in-law, penned the lyrics in English and Tamil and even sung it. Composed by 21-year-old Anirudh Ravichander, the song is a part of Dhanush's forthcoming movie "3″, which is his wife Aishwarya Rajinijanth's directorial debut.

Dhanush also composed a Sachin Tendulkar anthem.

"Kolaveri Di" means murderous rage.

The popularity of the song led to the creation of a number of imitations and parodies in various languages around the world depicting different types of situations.

My bad luck I couldn’t do ‘Krrish 3′: Jacqueline

Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who is just three films old in Bollywood, regrets not doing "Krrish 3″ and clarifies that director Sajid Khan does not influence her decisions.

"'Krrish 3′… I think more of my bad luck. It was unfortunate clash of dates. I felt a major burden on lot of people, so I had to make the decision. Both parties tried hard to make it work, but it didn't work. It's my bad luck I couldn't do 'Krrish 3′," Jacqueline, who debuted in Bollywood with 2009 release "Aladin", told.

Another offer that she turned down was for Mahesh Bhatt's "Raaz 3″ because she didn't want to be typecast.

"Unfortunately you tend to get stereotype in the industry and that was the major concern for me. When 'Murder 2′ released, there were lot of offers coming my way," she said.

"When we got into the later stage of finalisation of 'Raaz 3′, I just was not comfortable. I felt I have done it in 'Murder 2′, so it's time to move on. 'Housefull 2′ was a major relief. It's a different genre. It sees me as a lot more Indianised," added the 26-year-old.

Countering speculation that her "Housefull 2″ director Sajid Khan is mentoring her, Jacqueline said: "There has always been a reason for my action. I am not from this industry.

"I have made my movies and career choices completely on my own. When it comes to these things, I don't take advice. I don't have mentors. Sajid Khan is not my mentor. People are very quick to take the credit, but are not quick to take the blame."

Jacqueline is currently gearing up for "Housefull 2″ release. The film is scheduled for an April 5 release.
