C.K. Chandrappan passes away

CPI State secretary C.K. Chandrappan is dead.C.K. who had been fighting cancer for the last over a year, died at a private hospital around 12 noon. He was admitted to a private hospital at Kochi when he developed complications while campaigning in the Piravom by-election and later shifted to Thiruvananthapuram.

Born in 1936, he also acted as chairman of KTDC and vice chairman of Kerafed.

Chandrappan was a member of the Lok Sabha representing the Telicherry constituency in 1971 and Kannur constituency from 1977 to 1980 and from 2004 to 2010. Chandrappan served as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Kerala from 1991 to 1996 representing the Chertala Assembly Constituency.
