George Clooney praises Brad Pitt

Actor George Clooney has heaped praises on Brad Pitt and says the latter is "one of the great guys" in Hollywood.

Clooney has praised Brad for being one of his best friends in the movie business, but insists they don't hang out as much as people think they do.

"Brad is one of the great guys. We're good friends, but it's different from what people think - meaning we don't spend a lot of time together. He has been to my home in Como; we motorcycle together. But until recently, I hadn't seen Brad in a year," The Hollywood Reporter quoted the "Descendants' star as saying.

Clooney is known to be a huge prankster in Hollywood, and even played numerous pranks on Pitt, especially when they filmed "Ocean's Eleven" and its sequels.

But the 50-year-old insists the 48-year-old actor has got him good on a few occasions.

"A couple of years ago, he (Pitt) really nailed me. He did one of those shows and they asked him when he was going to marry Angie, and he said, 'I'll marry when George can legally marry (a man).' He really got me badly, it's something I have had to deal with the past few years," said Clooney.

Rihanna’s pre-birthday bash with Perry, Mars

Singer Rihanna got together with friends Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Chris Martin to celebrate her 24th birthday a week in advance. She chose a Barbados-themed bash for the celebrations.

The "Umbrella" hitmaker will officially turn 24 Feb 20, but she got the party started with more than 100 friends and family members in Beverly Hills, California, Feb 13, reports dailystar.co.uk.

The guests feasted on a Caribbean-style dinner as a tribute to Rihanna's island roots, and indulged in cupcakes decorated with Barbadian flags.

A brass drum player was also on hand to play reggae tunes, while Rihanna seemed to have a great time with her friends.

Towards the end of the evening, a personalised birthday cake, featuring an image of a bikini-clad Rihanna, was brought out along with more than 20 bottles of champagne for a special toast. Attendees also walked away with high-end Camacho cigars as a parting gift, said a source.

Lady Gaga inspires Raakesh Agarvwal’s collection

International pop diva Lady Gaga's eclectic style became an inspiration for designer Raakesh Agarvwal's collection at the second day of ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Thursday.

"Lately, I have been listening to Lady Gaga a lot. Initially I never liked her, but when I started listening to her, I started falling in love with her. I love her style but I don't know how many people would be able to carry it," Agarvwal told IANS.

"I love her style statement and she is unbelievably creative. It was a challenge because she is always creative and I wanted that whole Lady Gaga creativeness to come into much more wearable garments. The garments were cut sharply for the body so that a normal woman can pick up and wear it and yet feel like Lady Gaga," he added.

The designer's collection included gold sequined jump suits, short dresses, jackets and gowns made from fabrics like velvets, jerseys, wool, satin and silk. However, the collection was dominated by leather.

"The whole collection is inspired by lot of architectures from different eras like the Taj Mahal in Agra to Blue mosque in Istanbul and Louvre Museum in Paris. We have taken different techniques, artworks and motifs and blended it with the sexy look with a bit of Lady Gaga style thrown into it," he said.

Singer Anushka Manchanda opened Agarvwal's show with a small gig, pepping up the mood in the show area.

"Anushka is real star and one of the best pop stars in the country till now. Moreover, because the collection was about Lady Gaga meeting architectural collection, I thought it would be better if I take a popstar rather than having any Bollywood celebrity or a supermodel," Agarvwal added.

Vidya played choosy before saying yes for Kahaani

Vidya Balan, who has been on a success spree after her films "No One Killed Jessica" and "The Dirty Picture", took a lot of time before zeroing on to Sujoy Ghosh's "Kahaani."

"Sujoy came to me with a script, which I didn't like. Then he said I will bring to you one idea after another till you like it. I thought he was just saying it. But he actually came with a lot of ideas to me and I liked this one a lot and asked him to develop it and that we will see. But till the time the script was not complete, I didn't say yes," the 33-year-old said while promoting "Kahaani" at Radio Mirchi.

Releasing March 9, "Kahaani" tells the story of a pregnant woman who comes to Kolkata in search of her missing husband.

"He patiently waited for me and thank god he did that because it has been a great experience. I have been associated with this film in different capacities besides acting. After 'Parineeta', this is the film with which I feel so associated in terms of the process - from scripting to locations," she said.

Vidya admits she takes her own sweet time before selecting a script.

"I take time in saying yes to a script only because I want to be completely sure that this is the film I want to do," said Vidya, who has been picking up all the awards for her portrayal of southern siren 'Silk' in "The Dirty Picture".
