The grapevine is rife with rumours of the Goan beauty, Ileana, having turned down an offer for an item number. It seems like she is not ready for such a role, because she gave the "thumbs down" to a request to play the character of Munni in the remake of the chartbuster Gabbar Singh, which is a remake of Dabbang. Even the opportunity to shake a leg with leading star Pawan Kalyan was no incentive. Even producer Ganesh's lucrative offer of `80 lakh to `1 crore for 3-days work couldn't draw the actress on board. "Yes, she was approached to play the role but she turned it down. She is a top league actress in T-town and doesn't need to do an item number to gain mileage and publicity," says a friend close to the actress. But B-town's top actresses like Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu are doing it? "Bollywood is different and their projection of item numbers is brilliant but down south, item numbers aren't happening and are still considered to be an option for faded actresses," he adds. Meanwhile, the director has also approached Bipasha Basu and Trisha, but nothing is fixed. "We are exploring various options but it's too early to talk about it, since we'll shoot the number only in April and it will definitely be a big name," says director, Harris Shankar.
